We Are Ensuring Every Child’s Right to Education

Imagine a child, 10-year-old Grace, waking up each morning knowing that her dream of becoming a teacher might never come true. She loves school, but her family can’t afford the uniform or the supplies she needs, and each year, she misses more and more days of school. Grace lives in a small rural village in Uganda, and like many children here, poverty keeps her from accessing a basic education. This story is all too familiar, but it’s one that Nimu Education Foundation (NEF) is changing—one child at a time.

At NEF, we believe that every child has the right to education, no matter their background. Unfortunately, for children like Grace, barriers such as the cost of school fees, uniforms, books, and even the lack of food stand in their way. But thanks to your support, NEF is making a difference.

Facing The Challenges

In Uganda, over 2 million children are out of school. The reasons are many—poverty, lack of resources, early marriages, and cultural norms that don’t prioritize education, especially for girls. Classrooms are with more children than desks, where students are forced to share tattered textbooks and teachers do their best without proper materials. These are the realities in many underserved communities.

How NEF is Breaking These Barriers

At NEF, we tackle these challenges head-on through initiatives like the Back-to-School Campaign. For Grace, this meant receiving a full set of school supplies and a uniform so she could go back to school. But we don’t stop at materials. NEF provides scholarships to cover tuition fees and meal programs to ensure children can focus on learning rather than hunger.

Our impact speaks for itself. Since we began, we’ve helped over 5,000 children like Grace stay in school. And the ripple effect is remarkable—students who receive our support perform better academically, have lower dropout rates, and become role models in their communities.

A Story of Transformation: Meet Peter

Peter, a 12-year-old boy from the outskirts of Kampala, was on the verge of dropping out when his father lost his job. NEF stepped in, providing Peter with school fees and supplies through our scholarship program. Today, Peter is not only excelling in his studies but is also a youth leader, helping others in his community. “NEF gave me the tools to succeed and showed me that education is the key to my future,” he says.

You Can Help Break Barriers

This transformation wouldn’t be possible without your support. By donating to NEF, you are directly contributing to removing the barriers that prevent children like Grace and Peter from accessing education. Just $20 can provide a child with the supplies they need for an entire year, and $50 can cover a full year’s school fees.

Get involved today and help us break these barriers!
